Sunday 26th October 2014 - 10km
If you know me at all then you will know how much I hate urban slang such as "whoop whoop". I would rather stick pins in my eyes and peel all my skin off kind of hate. But today...well today felt like a "whoop whoop" moment.
I ran my first non-stop, with no breaks, 10km, since Sunday 22nd April 2007 (my previous marathon day). And it was my quickest ever! The time was not remarkable but that doesn't really matter to me. I felt good at the end and could easily have run a bit further. I even completed my run with a little sprint finish (AB - a sprint finish you would be proud of!)
What's even more remarkable...it followed a rather large pub lunch and not once did I have an "I hate running" moment, which again, if you know me, or have ever run with me before, is somewhat unusual.
So in my first week of marathon training I have clocked a total of 17 miles (28km). I would say that's a pretty good first week, wouldn't you?!
Perhaps I could get into this running lark? You never know.
May this be the first of many whoop whoop moments!!!
