London Marathon 2015 - An hour off...

Sunday 2nd November 2015 - 11km

It was raining, my knees hurt, my shins hurt, my ankles hurt, I had a stitch, I was hungry...ok, moaning over. I was having one of those days where I wasn't particularly inspired to do anything, let alone run. After a good week last week, the negative thoughts were creeping back in. A friend said to me in the afternoon "at least you escape the kids for a bit...". That was enough motivation for me!

IMG_3849I tested out all of my new kit, which was fab. The new (expensive) socks were exceptional and I came back blister-free. That bodes well for the longer runs. I made the mistake of checking my distance at 8.5km and nearly gave up at 9k. Silly really because I had mapped out the route and knew exactly how much further I had to run. I kept trying to think about my roast dinner that was waiting for me at home. When I say "waiting for me", I mean waiting for me to cook it!!

Anyway, I kept my head, slowed down, and got it done - sorry if this sounds a bit dramatic, after all it is only 11k, but everyone's mountain is different! Turns out I shaved 3 minutes and 9 seconds off last week's 10k, so I don't really know what I'm moaning about.

So another 4 runs done and another 17 miles (28km) completed.

And just because it was so good, I share a picture of my roast dinner, and a cheeky glass of wine. I know what you're thinking...that can't be your dinner, it's so big. Is it my dinner? Hell yeah!! This girl loves her food!
