So what is My Beautiful Body Project all about?

In the fitness industry one of the biggest obstacles why people don’t exercise is Motivation. However, in my experience over the past years of helping new mums, including myself, regain their pre-baby bodies, one of the biggest obstacles I have come across has been Time. Most new mums are super motivated to get rid of that jelly belly, the muffin top, or the love handles, but find it very difficult to find the time to do it.

I have spent a lot of time considering the healthy diet vs exercise debate. Most of us do exercise because we feel that we should. We want to lose weight and we want to look better. Some of us just do it so that we can eat whatever we want. However, consider how many meals you eat during a week…about 21?…now consider how many exercise sessions you do a week…about 3? It’s not hard to see that what we eat is far more important than how much we exercise.

But I too find myself making bad choices. My weight can fluctuate throughout the year, I find it hard to say no to cake and I eat a lot more when I’m stressed. If it’s hard for the trainer to change then what about everyone else?

I am not a nutritionist. I am not a life coach. I am not a Doctor. But I do know how difficult it is to find the ‘me’ in ‘time’ when you are a busy, working mum. The pressure to always keep preparing healthy food for a hungry family, in a limited amount of time, let alone finding the time to exercise and look after your own well-being.

It is my aim in 2014 to help give people, mum’s specifically, back their ‘me’ time.  Helping others to make healthier choices, by educating them about nutrition when there is so much conflicting advice out there. Demonstrating that exercise can be time-efficient and does not necessarily need to be sweat-inducing bootcamp style. And finally, getting organised – the key to a healthier lifestyle.

Hence “My Beautiful Body Project” was born. I wanted to provide the knowledge and tools to encourage people to learn for themselves the healthier lifestyle, and making the best of what they’ve got.

The basis of My Beautiful Body Project Club can be summed up in three simple steps:

#1. Food

Recipes following the clean-eating principles. These include; breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, healthy treats and store-cupboard basics. Demonstrating that healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated, time-consuming or expensive. Useful articles about the whys and why-nots of food. And how getting this bit right can change your life forever.

#2. Fitness

Learning to love exercise. How to fit exercise into your normal daily life, fitting it around your family. Demonstrating that you can get maximum results for minimum effort. And how exercise can actually lead to you have more time in your life for you.

#3. Freetime

We never have enough time in our lives and I’m not sure we will ever will but I’m going to do my best to give you more. The key to this is getting organised. It is the only way in a busy family life. If you are not organised then eating healthy and doing exercise is going to always be an uphill battle.

This site is about me…and you. I want to build a huge resource of information and tools to help us all eat healthier, move more and have more time. So let’s get started…
